Sorting and Break-Off (1st and 2nd shift)

Location: Beaver Dam, WI

$1,500 NEW HIRE BONUS AVAILABLE for new employees in good standing. $250 after 60 days, $500 after 6 months and $750 after 1 year of employment.

Part Sorting / Break-Off (1st and 2nd shift openings available)

Primary Job Duties:

  • Ensure proper tools, jackets and weights are available as needed for shifting weights.
  • Work closely with the pallet line pourer to assure adherence to the production schedule and quality standards.
  • Remove sprue from castings as the come out on shaker conveyor and sort parts into tubs by part number and sort sprue in to hoppers by iron type.
  • Ensure that all shop card instructions are followed.
  • Help identify and prevent all incidences of high scrap.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner, report safety concerns to your Supervisor or Safety Committee Representative and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Initial shop card for each job produced while on shift and report any shop card questions to your supervisor.
  • Maintain appropriate attendance record.
  • Assist in training new employees that enter the department.

Competencies:

  • High School Diploma, HSED, GED or solid work history
  • No specific prior training required for this position.
  • Will train in foundry specific safety issues.
  • Will train in industry specific business issues.
  • Will train in machine operation specific issues.
  • Ability to work in a production or process driven environment.
  • Must be able to read.
  • Must be able to perform simple math computations.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to perform practical communication.
